Something is going screwy with my template. For some reason it is not posting the time I finished my blog for the day. I figured out how to change the template on the sides of the page, but now it is messing with my center messages. I do not like this. I guess I will try changing my template AGAIN to see if that fixes it.

Oh, you may have noticed that I changed my template. Yes I am a cat person. I wasn't until I married a cat person, but now I have three of my own. If I ever figure out how to post pictures on this blasted thing, I will display pictures of them. Recently, when I mentioned to someone at work that I had cats their nose crinkled up like I had just puked on their shoes. No one had ever done that before and it kind of disturbed me. I already have a feeling that animal rights are the lowest on the totem pole here. There are stray cats and dogs running around and no one seems to care. There are at least two dogs dead on the highway every week. One of our cats we scooped up from outside. He was sculking around our building, catching lizards when my husband saw him. Jay called out to him and the cat just went right up to him. Spike, as he is known today, had a flea collar on but nothing else. This confused me. Why would someone go out of their way to put a flea collar on him, but not a name tag? Someone didn't want fleas in their home, but they didn't care if their cat ran away. Of course we took Spike in, paid the vet a visit and got him a name tag. As soon as his worm problem is all fixed, he will be as healthy as our other two cats. Now my co-worker has started to see a stray dog visit her back patio. He has a collar too but no tags. My co-worker can't take this dog in due to allergies, but what is she to do? Any suggestions? I'm afraid if she calls the Animal Shelter they will destroy him before a home can be found.
Did I mention I was Catholic? Here's a Catholic quiz for ya.

what's your order?

Why do cats prefer old cardboard boxes over the nice fluffy thirty dollar cat beds? Its amazing the things people buy their pets (me included) when they would be perfectly happy with a old paper towel roll.

Well, I'm back from Miami. Nothing much happened there, either. It was actually quite pathetic. I did get to meet my 'co-workers' and see their laboratory. I'm am so grateful for where I work now. I had no idea that they were all crabby for a reason. I may have to go back in November for a training exercise, so that will be purposeful. Maybe Jay can go with me and we can make it a long weekend. I didn't get to see any of the city of Miami during this visit since it was only for two days. Maybe that is a good thing. But now I am back at home and back to work. And I have a lot of work to catch up on. Now I just have two more weeks until my interview in Norfolk. But for that job interview I have to travel on USAirways. Maybe I should double check with someone to make sure they didn't cut out the San Juan routes...

Ok, thats enough of the quizzes. It has been several days since my last post and as you can probably tell not much is going on. Very much in Limbo, I do believe. Tomorrow I go to Miami to visit the Laboratory that I have been an employee of for two years. Why they never allowed me to travel up there before is anyone's guess. I have a sneaking suspicion it is only because they have budget money that they HAVE to spend by September and this is one of the "appropriate" ways to spend it, travel. Heaven knows we don't have anything else to spend it on. Nothing that they will allow anyway. Two cellphones and unlimited service can't be too much to ask, is it?

Same story, different day. I kinda cheated on this quiz, since McDonald's is my favorite fast food chain.

Ok, it was a bit boring today at work. So I took the opportunity to find out a couple things about myself. You can see those two quiz answers below. I am Kermit and Linus. I'm also Eliza Bennet from Jane Austin's Pride and Prejudice but I didn't get the URL code.

You are Kermit!
Though you're technically the star, you're pretty mellow and don't mind letting others share the spotlight. You are also something of a dreamer.

There is nothing like babysitting a four-year old that makes you never want to have kids. Ever.

About a year ago I joined a website called Global Freeloaders. It is a site where you can offer free lodging to weary travelers from all over the globe. We've had a nice couple from Texas stay with us earlier this year. And yesterday a lady from Spain flew into Puerto Rico to stay with us. Well, we aren't the main attraction, Puerto Rico is. But we offer our spare room and pull-out couch to anyone from the website if they e-mail us and ask politely. It is an interesting prospect. One that Jay and I haven't taken advantage of yet. But we hope the next time we have money and time, we'll be able to go to Europe cheaply by staying with total strangers.
