September 11, 2001 - These are my memories of that day. When the first airplane hit, my supervisor in Miami called us and said something like a small plane hit the World Trade Towers. At that time he said it was a small commuter plane. We put on public radio and they were more descriptive about what actually happened. I think by that time both towers had been hit and the news about the Pentagon was coming in. For some reason we couldn't get any TV stations so the rest of the day we were listening to public radio as they talked about the possibility of a fourth plane attack in DC. I don't remember if they confirmed the downed flight in PA while I was at work. Now during these events I have a sister-in-law who flies for United and a friend who was returning from a European trip. We couldn't reach my sister-in-law and had no way of contacting my friend. Eventually that day we found out that my sis-in-law was fine, she wasn't flying that day. But my friend's flight had been diverted to Newfoundland where she had to stay a few days. She sent us an email which I think I still have six years later. During her "visit" she made new friends and has actually gone back there to see the people that were so nice to her while stranded so far from home.

Ok, I wasn't quite truthful when I said that I would post a journal of our move experience from San Juan. We moved to Chicago in 2003 and it is now, um...September 2007. Yeah, a lot of life has gone by while ignoring this blog. Maybe it's because blogs got all popular and were cool to have. I don't necessarily do things because they are cool or popular. I'm usually quite the opposite.
Anyway, the main reason why I have come back to this blog is two-fold. One, a friend of mine from Jacksonville started a blog about our high school friends and our recent Girls' Weekend back in Florida. In order to see her blog I had to log in and by doing so was reminded by Google that I still have this blog hanging out in the blogsphere. So, I've decided to reinstate this blog since I've finally come back to it. Secondly, there are some things in my life that I may need therapy for in the really near future, so it's good to have a handy dandy Therapy in a Box session if needed.
So, bye for now and I promise to post something sooner than later.

It looks like my wish has finally come true...we are relocating from San Juan! Yippee! We heard a month or so ago that we will be going to Chicago. And today we heard that the funding for our move has been approved. To those in the federal government, it is called "getting our numbers", our TCN to be exact. I have no idea what TCN stands for. Anyway, I have begun to re-post on my blog to keep a journal of sorts about our move. It may not be daily, but anything has got to be better than six month intervals.

Testing, testing, 1, 2, 3. Hey this thing still works! Even if you ignore it for six months! Great! Now I have to find something to say.

Hey I just thought of anything thing to be thankful for...last season's episodes of Buffy are on the FX Network now! Yipee! Now those of us without UPN can finally see them!
Ok, you may be thinking that everything must be hunky dory, so I don't need my "Therapy". You are so wrong. I do need therapy in general, but I just haven't been back to my blog since...um...my 29th birthday. Don't read anything in that. It is just coincidence, really. I'm being serious. My job still sucks and I'm stuck in a location I hate. But since Thanksgiving just past, it reminds me that I am thankful for my husband, family, cats and sanity. I promise, and I know I've probably said this before, I will try to keep this think up to date. Now that Christmas and the end of Jay's school semester is near it might be a bit easier.

Happy Birthday to me, Happy Birthday to me, Happy Birthday to me-e, Happy Birthday to me. Yesterday we had cake, designed in the shape of a dish of spaghetti and meatballs which I made myself, and we watched two of my presents, Beauty and the Beast and Scooby Doo on DVDs. Today, I don't know what we are going to do. Since it is Saturday I need to do my usual Saturday chores, i.e. laundry and grocery shopping. We may just find a nice place to have dinner. I hope everyone else is enjoying their weekend!

I know its been awhile since my last blog. It's not like I have a following. Nothing much has been happening since I had the job interview. A manger from that interview did say that although they went with someone with more experience, he was impressed with me and hoped that I continued to search for a position with the company. I figure something good will come around when I'm not looking for it. That is how I found my husband.

I guess the only other news is that my 29th birthday is tomorrow. I have mixed feelings about it. Birthdays are cool cuz I get to be the center of attention, I get to make a really nice, yummy cake and we have a nice dinner out. The fact that this is my last birthday in my twenties is kinda hard to take. Even though I have heard from some sources that a woman's best years are in her thirties. I'm looking forward to that if it is true. One good thing about me is that I look younger than I am. So even at 32 or so I'll still look twenty-something. And my husband is young-looking, too. So we will age well together, I think. Next year I would like to do a major thirtieth birthday party thing. Invite a ton of people someplace cool (Disney World!) and just celebrate till the sun comes up. I figure if I start my thirties out right, they will be the best years of my life after all.

I didn't get the job. But thats ok. Moving is a pain in the butt.
